MATISSE

Henri Matisse (1869-1954) is possibly one of the 20th century's best-loved artists. In this page you will find some wonderful serigraph prints by Henri Matisse, including many classic works from his 'Cut-out's' series including 'The Snail', 'Les Oiseaux' and Icarus, from "Jazz", all constructed from pieces of colored paper. He was a prolific artist and a master of color.

When Henri Matisse was 21 years old he became seriously ill. During the phase of convalescence Matisse started painting and discovered his love for art, which should become his life-long passion.
