Komodo and neighboring islets, Indonesia

In September we took a cruise on the M.S.Y. Perintis, starting in Sumbawa and traveling east to Komodo, Banta, Flores, and some tiny islands in between. This was a spectacular trip for us.

One of the boat's owners and her friend were the only other passengers along, and as this was one of the ship's first voyages we went where we pleased. The captain, Herman, and his crew were splendid, and the food prepared was just fabulous.

A few dives we did along Banta and east of Komodo were among the best I have ever done. Snorkeling along coasts rarely visited was equally good. One of my favorite trips.
