• Mineralogical Society of America. Excellent website with online database, text, and reference resources. Best mineralogical website around.

• International Union of Crystallography. Literature and software references from and for crystallographers worldwide.
   
• The Wooden Periodic Table. Terrific website by a fellow chemical aficionado, Theodore Gray.
   
• Nuclear Weapon Archive. The best technical nuclear weapons information available in the public domain. Maintained by Carey Sublette. Be sure to see his NWFAQ.
   
• Federation of American Scientists. Excellent web site covering many areas of governmental secrecy, defense, and weapons proliferation topics.

• Cryptome. Very current selection of national security and freedom of speech related information.
   
• JPL Pasadena. NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. A superb web site, with abundant links, concerning space exploration.

• Artificial Life. Link to the artificial life area of the Santa Fe Institute; contains links to many artificial life topics on the web.

• Perintis*. A wonderful wooden ship sailing the exotic Lesser Sunda islands east of Lombok, Indonesia (see Komodo in our photoalbum for some pictures and a short description).
   
• Maps of Indonesia. Peter Loud has here taken the time to prepare and place on the web a number of useful electronic maps of Indonesia.

• Tribute to the Telephone. A large website with much detailed info on telephony. This link should bring you to my favorite spot : an on-line copy of a 1956 switching manual by AT&T/Pacific Telephone.
