Upper slopes and summit

From the upper slopes of Mount Kinabalu, much of eastern Sabah can be seen, stretching all the way to the South China Sea beyond.

These slopes have been glaciated as recently as 3,000 years b.p. The rock surfaces near the summit are well polished, making a stark landscape, with little plant life present.
