Mn2(AsO4)(OH)
Orthorhombic
Eveite, a manganese arsenate hydroxide mineral, was reported from the Buckwheat Dump in Franklin by Cook (1973), but reinvestigation of his specimen showed it to be adamite.
Eveite was subsequently verified by the writer from Sterling Hill, where it was found on a fracture surface in red willemite. It formed rare, 0.5-1.0 mm prismatic, lath-like, light-yellow crystals, associated with willemite and sarkinite. X-ray methods are useful for verification.
