Epidote-group minerals are relatively uncommon at both Franklin and Sterling Hill; the few significant occurrences are at Franklin. The most important of these minerals are hancockite and allanite-(Ce), the latter being a major host for rare earth elements (REE). The locally occurring members of the epidote group are:
